Backstrap to 5th fret. Carved boat heel. The photos of the inlays include comments about the inlays that need to be restored. Cole used a neck adjuster at the end of the dowel.  Wonder why this feature didn't catch on ? Dowel is stamped "Cole's Eclipse" twice.   UPDATE 03-07-10 I met Jim Bollman at Clifftop last year (2009).  He looked at this banjo and identified it as a Model 4000, not Model 5000 as I previously thought.
