Serial # 63491 on dowel Tagged "Wurlitzer inside rim. Set up w/ scale length = 19 1/2 in. Head dia. = 11 in. 26 hooks "Little Wonder"-type rolled-over tone ring. Converted from tenor to 5-string by adding wing to both sides of neck, 1/4" fretless walnut fingerboard on top of existing fingerboard, 1/4 in deep brass-floored frailing scoop below octave, rosewood violin peg @ 5th fret, Nylgut strings. Original hide head and tuners. Setup: String span @ nut=1 1/8 in string span @ heel = 2 in. Bridge = 1 1/8 in. action @ scoop = 3/8 in action @ octave = 3/16 in. This is currently my favorite playing banjo. Also my first experiment with raising the fingerboard so that the bridge is forced to be higher. This really worked... puts more down-pressure bridge-to-head, good volume & tone. These are also currently my favorite fretless setup dimensions.
