YJ077
Fingerboard above first fret was missing, replaced
w/ walnut. All inlays missing - original had some copper & (nickel?)
inlays, I used MOP and abalone.
5th string pip area was broken
off, repaired. Removed "guitar" tuners, didn't fill screw holes, fit
boxwood fiddle pegs.
Neck had been stripped, stained "gunstock" w/
light tung oil to match pot.
DIMENSIONS:
Head dia. = 10¾"
Scale length 26⅛"
String span @ nut = 1"
String span @ heel = 1⅝".
Bridge = ½"
action @ heel = ⅜"
FLAWS:
Normal scuffing due to age.
Overall the finish is in fair-to-good condition.
Uses violin-type pegs....not really a flaw, but takes some getting used to if you've never
used them. These are less precise than geared tuners, and
take more attention than geared tuners. The banjo stays in tune.
